Duquesne DB Jeremiah Josephs Transfers To Tennessee State

Former Duquesne defensive back Jeremiah Josephs announced his commitment to Tennessee State. He will have two years of eligibility remaining as a graduate transfer for the Tigers.

Josephs earned second-team All-NEC honors in back-to-back seasons with the Dukes. Over his two seasons at Duquesne, Josephs totaled 65 tackles, eight tackles for loss, one sack, four interceptions, eight pass breakups, and one forced fumble. 

Josephs transferred to Duquesne from Miami (Ohio) prior to the 2021 season. He was a first-team All-Conference selection as a senior and earned first-team All-State honors as a junior. 

Stony Brook DB Carthell Flowers-Lloyd Signs With CFL

Former Stony Brook defensive back Carthell Flowers-Lloyd has signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League. 

Flowers-Lloyd earned first-team CAA All-Conference honors from The Bluebloods in 2022. He ranked third in the CAA in tackles for loss (14 TFLs) and No. 19 in total tackles (70 tackles) last season. 

He finished his two seasons with the Seawolves with 142 total tackles, 22 tackles for loss, five sacks, and one interception. Flowers-Lloyd transferred to Stony Brook from Eastern Michigan prior to the 2021 season.

NSU DB William Hooper Earns NFL Contract

Former Northwestern State defensive back William Hooper signed with the Green Bay Packers after a tryout during a rookie minicamp. He was one of 14 players who participated in the tryout for the Packers. 

Hooper earned second-team Southland All-Conference honors in 2022. He finished his senior season with 31 total tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, and two pass breakups. 

Over his four seasons at Northwestern State, Hooper totaled 71 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, three interceptions, nine pass breakups, and one forced fumble. He also earned third-team Southland All-Conference honors for the spring 2021 season. 

BYU DL Brooks Maile Transfers To Northern Colorado

Former BYU defensive lineman Brooks Maile signed with Northern Colorado. He will have four years of eligibility remaining for the Bears.

Maile signed with BYU in the class of 2019 and served a mission until the start of the 2022 season. He suffered a season-ending injury before the season, which resulted in Maile taking a grey shirt season. 

Maile was a three-star defensive end out of Pine View High School. He was a Deseret News All-State selection and earned first-team All-Region honors in 2018. He finished his high school career with 128 tackles, four sacks, three pass breakups, and one interception.
