North Dakota State DL Tony Pierce Enters Transfer Portal

North Dakota State defensive lineman Tony Pierce announced his entry into the transfer portal on Tuesday. He will be a graduate transfer with one year of eligibility remaining. 

Pierce redshirted his first season in 2018. He earned Phil Steele Freshman All-American honors in 2019 after playing in 12 of the 16 games for the Bison. Pierce finishes his Bison career with 99 total tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss and 8 sacks in 52 games over five seasons.

He won three FCS National Championships while at North Dakota State. 

Former 5-star LSU OL Transfers To Florida A&M

Former LSU offensive lineman Kardell Thomas announced his commitment to Florida A&M on Tuesday. Thomas will have two years of eligibility remaining for the Rattlers.

Thomas spent four seasons at LSU and appeared in 11 games with two starts at right guard. He redshirted as a true freshman in 2019 after battling an ankle injury throughout the season as LSU won the 2019 CFP National Championship.

He was highly touted coming out of Southern Lab High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Thomas was rated a 5-star recruit by 247Sports and earned MaxPreps High School All-American honors. 

Trey Laing Announces Transfer From Southern

Southern defensive end Trey Laing announced his transfer on Tuesday. Laing only played one season at Southern after signing out of East Mississippi Community College last offseason. 

Laing finished last season with 30 total tackles, eight sacks and 15 tackles for loss. As a sophomore in 2021, Laing finished the season with 53 tackles, six sacks, 12.5 tackles for loss and three forced fumbles at East Mississippi CC. 

He started his career at South Florida in 2018 but announced his transfer from the program after the 2019 season. He saw action in four games over two seasons for the Bulls.

ETSU DB Erek Campbell Enters Transfer Portal

East Tennessee State defensive back Erek Campbell announced his transfer on Tuesday. Campbell will have two years of eligibility remaining at his new program. 

Campbell finished second on the team with 61 total tackles last season and also contributed one interception and three pass breakups. He played in 22 games over his first three seasons, including three games in his true freshman year to maintain his redshirt eligibility. 

Before ETSU, Campbell was a two-time All-State selection at Lausanne Collegiate School and won two consecutive state championships. He finished his high school career with 195 tackles, 12 interceptions and 35 pass breakups. 

Alabama State RB Jacory Merritt Enters Transfer Portal

Former Alabama State RB Jacory Merritt announced his transfer on Tuesday. He will have two years of eligibility remaining at his next program. 

Merritt played three seasons with the Hornets and saw action in 23 games. He finished his Alabama State career with 985 rushing yards, 10 rushing touchdowns, 245 receiving yards and averaged 4.0 yards per carry over his three seasons. 

Before signing with Alabama State, Merritt was a standout running back at Sidney Lanier High School. He earned AHSAA Class 6A All-State honors and was a two-time All-Metro selection.
