Campbell loses multiple players to the transfer portal

The duality of the transfer portal is evident in Buies Creek, North Carolina. Campbell lost multiple players to the transfer portal last week, including 4-star defensive back Myles Rowser.

Rowser announced his transfer on April 12 and has already received multiple Power-Five offers. He earned FCS Freshman All-American honors from The Bluebloods last season.

Defensive tackle Paul Hutson III also announced his transfer last week. Hutson saw action in 11 games as a true freshman and finished the year with 23 total tackles.

Campbell safety Peyton Woulard has also entered the portal. Woulard transferred to Campbell from Wake Forest prior to the 2021 season and played two seasons with the Camels. Over his two seasons, Woulard totaled 50 tackles, two interceptions, five pass breakups, and one forced fumble.

Former Auburn LB announces commitment to Chattanooga

Former Auburn linebacker Kameron Brown announced his commitment to Chattanooga on April 12. Brown announced his intentions to transfer after spending four seasons with the Tigers.

Brown was a highly recruited prospect out of Lanier High School; where he finished his career with 187 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, six sacks, and six pass breakups. He is the younger brother of Derrick Brown, who is a former top-10 NFL Draft pick and current defensive tackle for the Carolina Panthers.

He is a much-needed addition to a talented Chattanooga defense that must replace multiple top contributors at the linebacker position.

Sam Mix promoted to Montana State RB coach

Montana State announced that Sam Mix will replace Jimmy Beal as the running backs coach for the 2023 season. Beal departed Montana State for a position at San Diego State this offseason.

Mix has spent two years on Brent Vigen’s staff as an offensive analyst and recruiting & operations assistant. He spent three seasons at MSU Northern as the special teams coordinator and receivers coach.

The Bobcats return multiple top contributors from last season’s rotation that averaged over 300 yards per game in 2022.
