FCS Players Selected In The 2023 CFL Draft

The 2023 CFL Draft began on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. CDT. The Bluebloods will track the former FCS football stars who hear their names called throughout the eight rounds. 

The CFL held an invitational combine at the University of Waterloo’s Feridum Hamdullahpur Field House on Mar. 3 for potential prospects. The official CFL combine was held in Edmonton, AB from Mar. 22-26. 

Two FCS prospects were selected in the 2022 CFL Draft. Bryant running back Daniel Adeboboye and Maine defensive back Shaquille St-Lot both heard their names called last year.

The 2021 CFL Draft was a stronger year for the FCS with five prospects being selected, including two first-round picks. Maine offensive lineman Liam Dobson and Maine linebacker DeShawn Stevens both were selected in the top-six picks. 

Chattanooga offensive lineman Lucas Lavin was the only FCS prospect selected in the 2023 CFL Global Draft. Mississippi Valley State defensive end Ronnie Thomas signed with the Calgary Stampeders in March. 

Five FCS football prospects were selected in the 2023 NFL draft. The FCS prospects who were selected are listed below.

First Round:

No. 9: Southern Utah DL Francis Bemiy (British Columbia)

Third Round:

No. 27: Holy Cross LS Adam Guillemette (Toronto)

Fourth Round:

No. 30: Delaware State RB Thomas Bertrand-Hudon (Saskatchewan)

Fifth Round:

No. 45: Houston Christian OL Edouard Paradis (Toronto)

Sixth Round:

No. 46: Charleston Southern DL Quintin Seguin (Ottawa)
