All-American LB Antoine Williams Transfers To WCU

Former Austin Peay linebacker Antoine Williams announced his commitment to Western Carolina. He will have two years of eligibility remaining for the Catamounts. 

Williams earned HERO Sports Sophomore All-American honors and FCS All-American honors from multiple publications. He finished the season with 91 total tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. He was also named a finalist for the 2022 Buck Buchanan Award. 

Williams signed with Austin Peay out of Pinson Valley High School in 2020. He won back-t0-back Class 6A state championships and was named to the ASWA Class 6A All-State team. He was also named the 2019 All-Trussville Tribune Defensive Player of the Year.



UNA Lands All-Conference WR David Florence

Former Kentucky Wesleyan College wide receiver David Florence announced his transfer to North Alabama. He will have one year of eligibility remaining for the Lions.

Florence earned G-MAC All-Conference honors in back-t0-back seasons for the Panthers. He finished his career ranked in the top 10 for receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns in school history. He set a career-high with 150 receiving yards and two touchdowns against Kentucky State as a junior. 

Florence totaled 149 receptions, 1,779 receiving yards, 15 receiving touchdowns, and averaged 11.9 yards per reception over four seasons with the Panthers.



Benedict QB Eric Phoenix Transfers To Murray State

Former Benedict quarterback Eric Phoenix announced his commitment to Murray State. He will have one year of eligibility remaining as a graduate transfer for the Racers. 

Phoenix led Benedict to the first SIAC championship in school history and earned a Division II playoff berth last season. He earned second-team All-SIAC honors in back-to-back seasons. 

Phoenix accounted for 4,440 passing yards, 32 passing touchdowns, eight rushing touchdowns, and completed 64 percent of his passes in 28 games. He was named the Offensive Player of the Year at Windsor Forest High School as a senior. 



Former UTSA DB Malik Jones Commits To ACU

Former UTSA defensive back Malik Jones announced his commitment to Abilene Christian. He will have one year of eligibility remaining as a graduate transfer for the Wildcats.

Jones played two seasons at UTSA and saw action in 27 games for the Roadrunners. He accounted for 10 total tackles, one interception, and one pass breakup. 

Jones transferred to UTSA from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College prior to the 2021 season. He earned first-team All-MACCC South Division honors as a sophomore. He finished the season with 45 total tackles, three tackles for loss, and four pass breakups.
