Weber State Lands NAIA Rimington Award Winner

Former Carroll College center Andrew Carter announced his commitment to Weber State. He will have one year of eligibility remaining as a graduate transfer for the Wildcats.

Carter was named the 2022 NAIA Rimington Award winner, given to the top center in NAIA football. He was the third player in school history to win the award. He earned second-team AFCA All-American honors in back-to-back seasons and was named a first-team AP All-American in 2021.

Carter was also a first-team Frontier All-Conference selection over the past two seasons. He helped Carroll win the Frontier Conference Championship and make two appearances in the NAIA Playoffs. 



2024 Tampa Catholic QB Commits To Furman

2024 Tampa (Fla.) Catholic quarterback Trey Hedden III announced his commitment to Furman. He committed to the Paladins over offers from South Florida, Appalachian State, Toledo, and Florida A&M. He recently made unofficial visits to Florida Atlantic and Toledo. 

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound quarterback had a massive junior season with 2,110 passing yards and 30 touchdowns. He led Tampa Catholic to the Class 2M Region seminals last season and helped the Crusaders average over 40 points per game. 

Hedden was named one of the top performers at the Elite 11 Regionals in Atlanta, Georgia last month. 



3-Star WR Lester Miller Commits To Jackson State

2023 wide receiver Lester Miller announced his commitment to Jackson State. Miller originally committed to Ole Miss on Jan. 30 as a preferred walk-on. He was initially committed to Akron early in his recruitment but decommitted on Dec. 6. 

Miller is the No. 236 wide receiver and ranks as the No. 35 player in the state of Mississippi, according to 247Sports. He was also selected to play in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game. 

Miller finished his senior season with 66 receptions for 1,484 receiving yards, and 16 touchdowns. He led Brandon High School to back-to-back MHSAA Class 6A championship games. He accounted for 168 receiving yards and two touchdowns against Starkville in the state title game this past season.



ECU RB Nemo Squire Transfers To Gardner-Webb

Former East Carolina running back Nemo Squire announced his transfer to Gardner-Webb. He will have four years of eligibility remaining for the Runnin’ Bulldogs. 

Squire signed with Gardner-Webb as a three-star prospect out of Dillon, South Carolina. He redshirted for the Pirates as a true freshman last season. He was the No. 38 player in the state of South Carolina, according to 247Sports. Squire committed to East Carolina over Georgia State, James Madison, Western Kentucky, and Navy. 

Squire helped lead Dillon to a 39-5 record and two state championship appearances over his four seasons. He finished his career with over 4,000 rushing yards and was a three-time All-Region selection.
