3-Star DL Kian Payne Commits To North Dakota State

2024 defensive lineman Kian Payne announced his commitment to North Dakota State. The 6-foot-4, 255-pound defensive lineman is from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Overland Park, Kansas. 

Payne ranks as the No. 113 defensive lineman and No. 8 player in Kansas, according to 247Sports. He earned first-team All-State and All-League honors last season. He finished his junior season with 58 total tackles, five sacks, eight quarterback hurries, and one interception. 

Payne committed to the Bison over offers from Wisconsin, New Mexico State, Colorado State, Ball State, and Toledo. He is the 15th commitment in the 2024 class for the Bison. 



Former UNLV LB Dondi Fuller Transfers To Utah Tech

Former UNLV linebacker Dondi Fuller announced his transfer to Utah Tech. He will have one year of eligibility remaining for the Trailblazers. The 6-foot-1, 225-pound linebacker is from Belleville, Illinois. 

Fuller played one season at New Mexico Highlands at the Division II level before transferring to UNLV. He finished his career with 10 total tackles in 16 games over two seasons at UNLV after sitting out the 2019 season. 

Fuller transferred to Arkansas-Monticello for the 2022 season. He finished the season with 60 total tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble, and four quarterback hurries. He recorded a career-high 12 tackles against Southwestern Oklahoma. 



Virginia Tech DB Cam Johnson Signs With Stony Brook

Former Virginia Tech defensive back Cam Johnson has signed with Stony Brook. He will have four years of eligibility remaining for the Sea Wolves. 

Johnson saw action in two games as a true freshman, recording three total tackles. The 6-foot, 160-pound defensive back signed with the Hokies out of St. Frances Academy in Washington, D.C. He signed with Virginia Tech over offers from Boston College, Illinois, Maryland, and Michigan.

Johnson was a four-star prospect in the class of 2022. He was ranked as the No. 7 player in Maryland and the No. 36 cornerback in the nation, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. 



2024 All-Ohio WR Kyle Maltarich Commits To Yale

2024 wide receiver Kyle Maltarich announced his commitment to Yale. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound wide receiver is from West Holmes High School in Millersburg, Ohio.

Maltarich was named the Ohio Cardinal Conference Player of the Year and earned first-team All-Ohio honors. He finished his junior season with 65 receptions for 1,345 receiving yards, 20.7 yards per reception, and 21 receiving touchdowns. He set the single-season school record for receiving yards and touchdowns.

Maltarich was initially committed to Harvard but reopened his commitment on June 26. He was clocked running a 4.47 in the 40-yard dash and is expected to be a massive piece for West Holmes to make a run at the state championship in 2023.



McNeese State DT Joey McNeely Transfers To Tennessee State

Former McNeese State defensive tackle Joey McNeely announced his transfer to Tennessee State. He will have one year of eligibility remaining as a graduate transfer for the Tigers. The 6-foot-4, 300-pound defensive tackle is from Kinder, Louisiana. 

McNeely saw action in nine games over two seasons for the Cowboys after sitting out the spring 2021 season. He recorded 17 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, and one pass breakup. He had career-high six tackles, one tackle for loss, and one sack against LSU in 2021. 

McNeely transferred to McNeese after playing two seasons at Northwestern State. He signed with the Demons out of Kinder (La.) High School. He was a two-time first-team All-State and All-Southwest Louisiana selection.
