Colorado EDGE Zion Magalei Signs With Northern Arizona

Former Colorado EDGE Zion Magalei has signed with Northern Arizona. He will have three years of eligibility remaining for the Lumberjacks. 

Magalei played two seasons at Colorado, seeing action in seven games and recording one tackle. He signed with the Buffaloes as a three-star prospect out of Chandler, Arizona. He was the No. 136 linebacker and No. 19 player in Arizona in the class of 2021. 

Magalei earned first-team All-Region honors as a senior after totaling 22 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, 10 quarterback hurries, and two fumble recoveries. He finished his high school career with a 23-0 record and won back-to-back Open Division Arizona state championships. Magalei also earned second-team All-State honors as a junior. 



Fresno State OL Joseph Church Transfers To MVSU

Former Fresno State offensive lineman Joseph Church announced his transfer to Mississippi Valley State. He will have three years of eligibility remaining for the Delta Devils.

Church spent three seasons at Fresno State but did not see any action for the Bulldogs. The 6-foot-4, 280-pound offensive lineman signed with Bulldogs out of Fontana, California. He was a three-star prospect at Upland High School in the class of 2020.

Church was the No. 113 offensive tackle and No. 123 player in California, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He finished his career as a two-time CIF Southern Section champion and earned second-team All-League honors in 2019. 



Florida A&M DL Kamari Stephens Enters Transfer Portal

Florida A&M defensive lineman Kamari Stephens announced his entry into the transfer portal on Monday. He originally entered the portal earlier this spring, but was expected to return to Florida A&M for the 2023 season. He will have two years of eligibility remaining as a graduate transfer. 

Stephens earned SWAC first-team All-Conference honors last season. He had a breakout season in 2022 with 12.5 tackles loss, 10 sacks, and four forced fumbles. Stephens led the conference in sacks and finished top-10 in tackles for loss last season. He was scheduled to represent Florida A&M at SWAC Media Day later this month before announcing his transfer. 

He signed with Florida A&M out of Sandalwood High School in 2019. Stephens received interest from multiple FBS programs out of high school, including Miami, Virginia, NC State, and Florida International. 



JUCO DB Lovelace Rufus IV Transfers To Morgan State

Former San Mateo College defensive back Lovelace Rufus IV announced his commitment to Morgan State. He will have two years of eligibility remaining for the Bears.

Rufus finished the 2021 season with 30 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions, and three pass breakups. He helped lead San Mateo to the CCCAA semifinals against City College of San Franciso. 

Rufus started his career at Dixie State (Utah Tech) after signing with the Trailblazers out of Moreau Catholic High School. He saw action in nine games as a true freshman, recording 11 total tackles. He had a career-high five total tackles against New Mexico Highlands.
