Former Western Kentucky DL Marcus Bragg Transfers To Auburn

Auburn is entering Year 2 of the Bryan Harsin era after a rough 6-7 season, which saw the Tigers lose five straight games to end the season. The Tigers have added multiple impact transfers along the defensive line, including former Memphis defensive tackle Morris Joseph. The Auburn Tigers landed another major addition to the defensive line as former Western Kentucky defensive lineman Marcus Bragg announced his commitment to the Tigers according to Jeffrey Lee of Auburn Live

Bragg was a 3-star prospect out of Arizona Western College and ranked as a Top-30 defensive tackle at the JUCO level in the class of 2019. He played one season at Mississippi Delta Community College before transferring to Arizona Western College for the 2018 season. Over his two seasons at the JUCO level Bragg totaled 35 tackles and 2 sacks before announcing his commitment to Western Kentucky.

Bragg only saw action in four games his first season at Western Kentucky and maintained his redshirt eligibility. Over the next two seasons Bragg saw action in 25 games and totaled 38 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and 1 forced fumble over his career for the Hilltoppers. He announced his transfer in March after the conclusion of spring practices at Western Kentucky. Bragg will have one year of eligibility left at Auburn as a graduate transfer.

Auburn was extremely thin at the EDGE spot going into the 2022 season as the Tigers only had three scholarship players listed on the roster. Bragg will join SEC All-American Derrick Hall, Dylan Brooks, and Eku Leota at the EDGE spot for the Tigers. Bragg will bring much needed experience to the EDGE position and should be a solid rotational piece for the Tigers throughout the 2022 season to pair with returning starters Hall and Leota.

Bragg is also cousins with former Auburn wide receiver Ricardo Louis and fills a major need for the Tigers as they enter summer workouts.
