Jacksonville State DB Malik Feaster Enters The Transfer Portal

Jacksonville State received some shocking news this afternoon as All-Conference defensive back Malik Feaster announced his intentions to enter the transfer portal as a graduate transfer. Feaster will have one year of eligibility left at his next program.

Feaster was an immediate impact freshman in a talented Jacksonville State secondary in 2018. He has been a major contributor for the Gamecocks over the past four seasons totaling 82 tackles, 10 pass breakups, and 2 interceptions in his career. Feaster only allowed 4 touchdowns in over 104 targets during his Jacksonville State career. He tied the NCAA FCS record for the longest fumble return for a touchdown (100 yards) against North Alabama. He was also named ASUN Defensive Player of the Week against Stephen F. Austin this season after his 11-tackle performance against the Lumberjacks. Feaster leaves Jacksonville State as a two-time conference champion.

The 6-foot, 187-pound defensive back was selected to the Bluebloods Preseason All-ASUN Team this preseason and was primed to be a top contributor for the Gamecocks in the 2022 season. Jacksonville State has now lost multiple top contributors to the portal including ASUN All-Americans Nicario Harper (Louisville), Josh Samuel (Austin Peay), & DJ Coleman (Missouri).

Feaster will be one of the most experienced and talented defensive backs in the portal. Multiple FBS programs and some of the top FCS programs will most likely pursue the talented defensive back out of Toccoa, GA. Stay tuned here for more updates on Feaster’s recruitment and FCS recruiting news from around the country.
