16 FCS Players Selected In The 2023 XFL Rookie Draft

The XFL conducted the 2023 XFL Rookie Draft on June 16, 2023, and featured 80 selections, 10 per team. Players who were not selected or signed as undrafted free agents after the NFL Draft and are not under contract with another professional team were eligible to be selected. 

All players under contract in the XFL are allowed to leave the league to sign with an NFL franchise through Dec. 26. XFL teams will hold exclusive rights to the players selected in the draft. XFL roster sizes will increase from 51 players to 90 players for next season. 

16 former FCS players were selected in the 2023 XFL Rookie Draft. The FCS class is headlined by 2022 Walter Payton Award winner Lindsey Scott Jr. who was selected by the Houston Roughnecks. Scott was also drafted by the Pittsburgh Maulers in the 2023 USFL College Draft. A league-high five FCS players were selected by the St. Louis Battlehawks. 

The FCS prospects who were selected in the 2023 XFL Rookie Draft are listed below.

Alex Jensen (South Dakota; Offensive Lineman)

Ty Scott (Missouri State; Wide Receiver)

Houston Roughnecks:

Lindsey Scott Jr. (Incarnate Word; Quarterback)

Orlando Guardians:

Keyron Kinsler Jr. (Alcorn State; Defensive Back)

Destin Talbert (North Dakota State; Defensive Back)
